Master Setting Discs
Direction of Tolerances:
Style 1 and 3 - Tolerances are applied bilaterally; Style 2 - tolerances are applied
unilaterally to the sections; minus on the "GO" section and plus on the "NOGO".
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Application
Set comparators, adjustable snap gages, automated electronic, pneumatic, and microprocessor
based gages.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Shoulders
Radii on all exposed shoulder edges, standard, .010" (.25mm) to .015" (.38mm).
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Disc Marking
Customer part number, "GO" or "NOGO" labels, "GO", "NOGO" dimensions, and gage tolerance
class - XXX, XX, X, Y or Z. Customer part identification, the "GO", "NOGO" label (Style 2),
diameter and tolerance class is engraved on the relieved ends of small and intermediate-size
discs (limited by size) and etched on the face of the carbide ring for the larger sizes.

Design
Style 1 and 3 - single-section, single diameter carbide elements; Style 2 - single-section,
two diameter element. All styles are furnished with insulating handles on each end. Smaller
sizes are of solid carbide with end extensions capped with ANSI standard plastic handles.
Intermediate sizes - .824" (20.93mm) to 2.010" (51.05mm) - are of carbide bushing construction,
Supported by ANSI standard insulated handles. Larger sizes (2.010" are larger) are heavy-walled
carbide rings assembled to supporting hubs of a special rigid nylon material, 1/7 the weight
of steel, which better complements the characteristics of carbide than the steel used
conventionally. The disc is supported by ANSI Standard insulated handles.
